Hey Larry, Novice Schrade here. Do you think he's referring to the Indian series, Kachina etc with the beaded sheath?

Paul... did you get my email about a sheath request?

Huh. Larry wrong? Would be a good Schrade trivia question though, how many 'T-bird' issues did Schrade make?

Just in case.. There were 6 knives in the "American Indian Series' of Scrimshawed knives, that ran from 1981 to 1986. The Thunderbird was the first according to my reference (BRLevines). All big traditional folding hunters or big lockbacks. Nice packaging and each had a colorful beaded sheath, matching the name of the knife. According to my 'Commemorative Knives' book by Voyles, there were 10,000 each of the first five of the issue and 8,000 of the last (the 'Sundance").

Last few of the Indian Series I saw selling on ebay went for $62- 86. Like many Schrades, they spiked in price last year, but have come down a bit. The exception would be the T-bird sold by James Parker last week that went for $171.00. That is an aberration, however; he gets very good prices on his knives, and the one in question was from the "Irv" collection (included the very valuabe certificate of authenticity in which "Irbing's' name is misspelled). Here's a pic.

So JHRilling... which T-bird are you curious about?

Phil; Yes I did and answered it immediately and answered it again just minutes ago. It was direct email and in fact I think the first time I used the reply option. Any way, what you wanted is a big YES. I can do it.

Paul

Thunderbird car from the "Wheels" series, Thunderbird Kachina from the "Tribute to Native Americans" series, and Brian Yellowhorse custom Thunderbird. That is the three that I can think of.
