For something a little different, I bought a couple of Schrade Tough Grips from SMKW. This is the long nose Vise-Grips with the Schrade tools built in one handle. Even though this runs to more of a "tool" than knife, I recommend it to anybody looking for a good glove box companion in your car. You cannot beat a good pair of Vise-Grips (not always the BEST tool for a given job, but they usually can get it done). Plus with a set of locking blades, it is a very handy tool indeed. The handle holds a part serrated knife blade, a saw blade, cross point screwdriver, large and small common screwdrivers, a wire stripper, and an awl blade. This is a little too big and awkward for a pocket tool, but it is compact enough to be stashed in almost any glove box, tool pouch, or where ever you might need a tool, but do not want to keep a full kit or toolbox. This does not replace a quality multi-tool, but the locking pliers can be a real asset. These are currently selling for $9.99 at SMKW. I think it was money well spent. I bought two, one is in my glove box, the other in my nightstand.
