Is Schrade Tough box China made? When did this design replace the Sharp Idea box? I saw one on the MAC tools truck. The box says "Schrade Tough" and is blue and white. Any ideas?
 
FWIW, I've got several USA made Schrade knives that come in boxes labeled "Schrade Tough."

Or were you asking if the cardboard boxes themselves were made in China, and not necessarily the knife inside?--If so, I've no idea.
 
If the box was printed in China, it usually says so. If it is a TBLLC box, it will say so (in very tiny letters on the early ones).

SCHRADE TOUGH logo first appeared, from what I can tell, in 1995. Here are the results of the USPTO TESS search:

You can survey the catalogs for these on the collectors-of-schrades-r.us site. And you can search TESS yourself for registered trademarks. Just look for the "FIRST USE" date. It is free and easy.
