Taken from another topic, but I thought it worthy of it's own discussion:

Does anyone actually own a TM30, or do have a reliable reference for that model? This is the only result from a Google search, and the item's photo is too poor to read the model number on the packaging.

The TM30 isn't listed on any of the archived shradeknives.com websites I've checked either. I'm beginning to doubt that this model actually exists...

Best Wishes,

Bob,
According to my spreadsheet I have one. I will dig it out of the box this afternoon and get a scan of it for you. I have an appointment in a few minutes but will post it after I get home.

Dale

Thank You. No rush at all. No need to scan anything; if you say you have one, I believe you.

Bob,
Here is the scan. Not too good in the clampack. You can see part of the number in the lower right corner, but the reflection off the plastic makes it hard to read in the scan.

My records indicate I got this one from SMKW. Here is a link to their web page, which seems they are still in stock for $3.99.

Here is another scan of a TM202 also from SMKW. It came wrapped in plastic and labeled Schrade TM202S. I am not sure if this was just SMKW's number for the bulk TM30s or not. Holding the TM202 next to the TM30 in the clampack they appear the be the same knife. You will still find the 202 on SMKW's web site if you type Tradesman into their search engine. The 202 shows up as "Temporarily out of stock," and sold for $1.99 when I bought the one I have. I think I bought two and gave one to my son. Not too bad a knife to keep in the glove box of the car or in the tackle box........but I prefer to keep better knives in emergency locations. :D
Don't get me wrong......it is a bargain at $1.99 or $3.99 (which ever you buy) but I have lots of better knives for utility purposes.

I see them in 3 shortlines 1998-2000 as clampacks only for $8.95

Dale,
Sorry I was chasing the 1st post. It was the TM30.

Another "Last Days" mystery... It's too bad the Tradesman products aren't tang stamped with the model numbers. At least then I'd consider the 30 and 202S "variations" of the same pattern.

I have both the 202 and 202S, but not the 30. Don't think I'll bother unless I stumble accross one for super cheap.

Ron,
It was Larry that said he saw them in the 1998-2000 Shortlines. I don't have those years of Shortline catalogs. I have the full 1999 catalog, but do not see them in there.

There is a TM30 on ebay # 6548605778 for $5.99 + $3.00 shipping which would equal the MSRP.......not bad.

In looking at my 1999 catalog I saw this AP14:

I have never seen one before. Has anyone seen one in real life? Does anyone have one?
How about the TM4? Anyone have one of these?

It looks like the awl off a 36OT and the scalloped blade off the 89OT. A very interesting combination. Too bad they didn't make it in the Old Timer series! I would HAVE-TO-HAVE one:D

Dale

I dont see it in the catalogs either.
Maybe because its a clampack only? I really dont know why they wouldnt put it with the others nor did I see the TM20 which is also a clampack only in the shortlines.

Yep. It was part of a combo on closeout from SMKW. $6.99 for a TM2, TM4, and Chinese TM scissors. At $2.30 per item, I'd say they're worth it, but not much more. On the TM4, two of the blades are loose, the fit and finish is terrible, but the springs have good snap and it's an interesting blade combo.

Del found the TM30 in the 2002/3 special markets pricelist again as a clam pack and only available in bulk. THe regular 2002, 2003 or 20044 pricelist does not have it.
Thanks Del
