My brother was told that this knife could be worth quite a bit, can anyone tell me if that's true? It was purchased around 20 years ago. Don't know why the pic itself isn't showing up, but the link works.

I would hold onto it just because it's a cool older slipjoint , as far as worth , I wouldnt plan on retiring and moving to Palm Springs any time soon :p

Are the blades in good shape ? scales complete ? there is a lot to consider.

It also depends on what you consider "quite a bit".

Judging by what I have seen on the various auction sites, if its a solid US made Scrade in good condition it could be worth $50-60, maybe a bit more if its NIB. However, unless it is a custom or limited edtion model of some kind, I would expect it to be worth less than $100 in any case.

Some one told my brother it was selling for 500$. I told him it was BS, and my price guides confirmed it. I thought I'd make sure and run it by you guys though, most people posting here are far mor knowlegeable than me.

i have two UH serpentine stockman patterns that I picked up for $10-$15 last year. Nice knives, but I doubt they are worth anywhere near that kind of money.

Yeah, its rare that a production folder would ever go for that much. Maybe if it was a pristene knife from the 20's or 30's with exotic natural grip material. Maybe. ;)
