Schrade USA Knives

Are all of the Old Timer fixed blade knives carbon steel? Are they 1095? How's the edge holding, compared, so to day, a carbon steel Mora clipper?

Many of the Sharpfingers were Schrade+ stainless, (can't remember if it 420HC or 440A). And I think all of Schrade's stainless models are marked Schrade+ on the tang stamp. If you do have /get one in plain high carbon steel it will be 1095.

My sharpfinger family is all the 1095 carbon steel. I have the 152OT, 154OT, two 156OT. I don't have the drop point with the gut hook though.

I know that the Sharpfinger that I had many years ago as a young teen was carbon. Wasn't sure about the others.

For the US-made Schrade knives of pre-2004:
There may have been some stainless OT's, but the vast majority are 1095 (and they gave it a good heat treat. It's good stuff.)

Schrade marked their stainless blades "Schrade +". They are 440A. (And good 440A, at that.)
 
Mine was carbon and held a good edge and it was really easy to sharpen...i still have it and use them to gut deer.
 
I have a bunch that I bought over the years because I liked the looks of them. They are okay, but the edge is nothing like a Buck knife. On the plus side as noted they are easy to sharpen.
