A question arose on another forum regarding a “Schrade Sharpfinger”; I feel these Classics/SFO knives should have their own forum.

In 2002-2003 Schrade listed a set of knives they called “Schrade Classics”.
These knives were sold separate and came in white boxes and tins; a Display of four knives was also sold at the same time.
All of these knives have Brown/Honey coloured bone handles, “Everlasting sharp” blade etch and the Main Blade is stamped “Schrade+ U.S.A.

The Sharpfinger in question came in a Display case containing five knives; Four of the knives are basically Schrade Classics.
The sharpfinger has the same bone handle also used on the “2002-2003 Federal Duck Stamp” knives (DS15 044356017619 and DS16 044356009713).
All knives in this set have an oval shield that says “Schrade”, and a blade etching that says “Special Edition”.
The main Blade has the same “Schrade+ U.S.A. LTD” stamping as the “2002-2003 Classics”.

I have a “Schrade Classic OTC 80” in my collection with a “Fischer’s” blade etching, and a SFO set of five knives that I have been told, were made for “Chromate”,
these SFO Blue bone handled knives are basically Schrade Classics; with a “Special Edition” blade etching and have the main blade stamped “Schrade+ U.S.A. LTD”.
The PH1 in the set is basically a “2000-2004 SDUPH2 044356016810”

Schrade used the Classics again in 2003; with a different shield again, they were called “Cigar Box Classics“- using a Walden tang stamp and an old Walden shield.

One question; are these knives "Old Timers" or "Classics" ? and dose it matter, when they are Schrade knives.

I have all of these knives in my collection and will post photos if there is any interest in the post... Ken

One question; are these knives "Old Timers"...

I'd be happy to include them in my Old Timer collection if they have an OT shield, tang stamp, or even just a blade etch.

The originals were actually called Old Timer Classics, and had the Old Timer shield. The Cigar Box Classics were an extension of the line, and came out at almost the same time. Both lines had new threaded bolsters, but parts were still the original Old Timer, or I should say Uncle Henry since they had the Schrade+ blades :) .You might say the other SFO knives had Classic bolster scales, but they aren't really Classics per se. The DU, Texas Ranger, and Chromate sets are good examples of this, with the Chromate sets having a few standard fixed blade patterns thrown in as well.

PH1's and PH2's were different sizes, but that's how you'd refer to the pattern. The SDUPH2 wa simply a PH2 with DU's shield and balde etch.

Sorry Eric, about the "Old Timer Classics' " name and the PH1 and PH2 mix up.
The PH2 in the SFO Blue Bone Set, has the same blade and stamping as the 2000 to 2004 PH2 Duck knive.
I have tryed to put this together quickley without looking at all the knives..

What about this Old Timer Bob. It looks like Schrade stuck the Classics Hat pins in a lot of their last sets and tins.

That's interesting. They put a pin in that Special Edition set, but not in the Old Timer Classics framed set. :D

What's so "Limited" about that knife? Anything unusual or different? Very curious since I don't have anything with that tin. I can't read what's etched on the blade...

First of all; My Classics Framed Set came in an unopened original Schrade box. The box contained four unopened knives, a Hat Pin was not supplied in that box and the insert had nowhere to place one. (I have never seen a set with the Hat Pin)
Schrade did sell their Lake and Walker SLW2 knives in those blue tins, in 2003-2004.
The knife in question has a Blade Etch that says, “Special Edition 1 of 1000.” The only special thing about the knife is the Blue Tin. (Schrade had their tins made in China)
