joel posted a thread earlier talking about what types of knives people use for their EDC's. there was a wide assortment used, with alot of people carrying more than one knife. ok, picture if u will, a showdown with matt dillon vs hoss cartwright. basically schrade vs case. the ultimate battle b/w american cutleries. naturally most of us here would choose schrade to be the better knife, if for nothing more than nostalic reasons. well, i have carried both for quite awhile, and in all seriousness, i have found schrade to be a better knife all-around, especially compared to the newer case knives. probaly the best case i ever owned was a 1981 sta coppehead. it was a beauty to reckon with, and a good knife....until the day it bite me!! i almost lost my index finger because it folded down over it. yea, i have been bitten by schrades too, but i have a thing with backsprings, and after i spent $65 for a russlock, and the spring snapped and case wanted to charge me a boot-load for a new one, i started carrying my dads schrade, and it worked just fine till i got one of my own. i like being able to drop a knife, (which i do alot here at work with oil and such on my hands!!) and not have it fly all to hell. i dropped a case trapper, with yellow handles once, and it flew apart, botht he handles flew right off!! yea, i cried, cussed, and condemed myself, but then entered schrade! dont get me wrong, my step-dad carried a case till the day he died, and it skinend many a deer, coon, rabbit, and cleaned a hell of alot of fish. it worked for him, cause he didnt use his on a "work basis" like i do. i like to use a good pocket knife, cause whats the point in it being made so well if it cant serve. but i choose schrade for several reasons, but the main one for me is memories, and a knife than can truley be for the working man. lets hear some of ya'lls stories why u like schrade, why u choose a great knife over another great knife.
