I just pulled out a old Schrade I had forgotten about and want to see what you folks can tell me about it; what is the steel in the blade, is is something that Schrade collectors here like?

With a quick google I see it's not valuable, in a dollar sense, but I don't want to fool with it if there's people here looking for one. If it's got a good steel that'll hold an edge, I'll sharpen it and toss it into a pack for a spare camp knife for future grand kids, otherwise, I'd just as soon trade it to someone for their collection than try to make it a user.

The blade has some scratches and tarnish but it doesn't look to have been properly sharpened before or used much and the sheath is in nice shape as well, should I be concerned about using this?

Cheers

Pics aren't showing up, maybe they're too big?

Thanks for the assist thawk. Yes, the Sporter is a 25-06 Rem. Remington BDL, a great caliber and fine shooting rifle despite the over the top gloss finish.

 Nice little 141 Bear head! you don't see too many JC Higgins etches that are legible. I'd safe HER!!!:D

Thanks for the feedback 6.0stroker, I won't fool around with this one because of the Higgins etch so I'll find it a new home; I'm not really a collector.

Cheers
