Hi. First time. Found an old knife of my dad's that I would like to give to my son with it's info. So far I've read that these knives were produced sometime between '48 and '73. Can it's date be narrowed down any more than that? It's Schrade Walden 148 N Y U.S.A Thanks for your time.
 
One knowledgeable researcher has laid it out like this: Stacked leather handle 61-73; fake stag 63-73, serrated edge 58-63, and stabilized wood 53-63. In addition there were many other variations, such as red and white striped handles, special factory orders for companies such as Sears, etc. It would be nice to see a pic' of your knife.
 
Yes, and a picture of the sheath as well, as they changed through the years and can be very helpful.
