Schrade-Walden 148S Deer Skinner/Huntsman. (1964 -1973)

I have a Schrade-Walden knife I inherited from my grandfather (he collected a few knives and guns), and since I'm the only person in my family that carries that gene (if that even makes sense, lol) , I am the one who has all the knives in the house (at 17 1/2).

The only reason I know the exact model name is because a person on a myspace forum told me.

I am just wondering how much it would be worth, since it is in near-mint condition. I AM NOT going to sell it. I just want to know how much it is worth (ballpark figure is okay), so I can make a decision on whether to put it in the safe or not.

The only flaw on the blade is the little strip of something. I'm not sure if it's rust or not. On the hilt of the knife, theres a small gouge at the corner of the aluminum

very nice example of a 148 with original sheath, my guess the value to be in the 40 to 60 dollar area---hard question to answer, depends on your buyer!! my suggestion would be to place a few 148 auctions on "watch" on ebae and see what they end up selling for. it belongs in the safe no matter what because of where you got it--thank god for good genes!!

Thanks for sharing these photos. My wife just found a knife that used to belong to her older brother that looks like a brother to this one, only mine's not so cherry as yours.
