Do we have any Schrade folks in here that could give me some info on this piece?
Thank you.

Don

1946-1973 era.
Thank you.

Nice knife! More desirable, as it is bone and not delrin. Looks like a nice survivor!

Thank you, Sir.
The secondary pen blade is a little bent near the tip, but overall is seems to be in nice shape. That main blade took an amazing, razor edge!

Another ref on them, looks like first appearance is the 54 catalog? Equal end jack.

The knife was carried over from the Schrade Cut. Co days and continuously made after the changeover in '47. They initially retained the old numbering system so it was the 2423 for a few years. From what I have here it looks like they stopped making it around 1963 or 64. There were a good number of different blade combinations for that frame so you could wind up with a nice collection of just that one pattern.

Thank you, Eric!
1954 - 1964.
I do like pen knives and jack knives. What drew me to this piece was the cigar like equal ended shape and the nice bone. I will scan for more 242 (2423) patterns!

All my best,
Don

Just to add some info, this was quoted from a Member named tongueriver in a post from 2017.
"By 1961 or VERY shortly thereafter there was NO bone left for Schrade manufacture in any patterns. They had no source for it from anywhere. The Delrin takeover was complete by 1962 or even before."

So, we are really narrowing things down... 1954 - 1962
