Schrade Walden 708 Boy Scout Question

I am wondering if Schrade made knives with the Boy Scout shield all during the Walden stamp era. I understand the Walden stamp was used 1946-1958.
This one is stamped "Schrade Walden N.Y. USA" and "708" on the reverse tang.
Is there any way to narrow down when this old knife was made?

Thanks,
Ed

Although Schrade moved to Ellenville about 1958, they continued to use that Walden stamp until about 1973, and once in a great while on limited editions much later as well. I suspect 1946 to 1973 is about as close as you will get, although tang stamps in the first couple years after the 1946/47 change, apparently either the NY or the USA was not always in the tang stamp. There may be some more knowledgables come on and tell you more.

Thanks for that information. I was hoping for a secret detail that might help narrow it some but your help has opened it up more. That is also good to know.
I did get some pics posted. I really am not surprized to learn it may be as new as the early 70's. It is in pretty nice condition and although condition is not an indication of age it tends to make me think this one has not been aroung long enough to get abused as most did.

I appreciate you shareing your knowledge.

A collector of Scout memorabilia can likely date the logo on the shield. There is a book specifically on Scout knives, but I don't have a copy. The Levine forum here might bring in someone who knows more specifically though. You will need a clear photo or scan of the shield.

Thanks for your help too.
Are these any better pics?

Are the handles made out of cow bone or delrin plastic? The bones are older, but I don't know the cut off date. It looks more like delrin to me but I can't really tell.

This probably ain't any help, but here are two I own. The left one is post '72, the right one is a Walden.

All if very helpful.

The scales are delrin. In fact after putting the scales under a glass I can even see that there are cracks at the center pin. Pays to look close anyway.

The posts of the post Walden shows even that the size of the pattern changed a bit to the bigger.

Thanks for all the help.
