I bought a whole truck load of "stuff" from an estate sale, and lots of goodies. The family owned a local hardware store for many years, and it looks like I got quite a bit of stuff from the store. However, I found an older small three blade stockman with yellow handles, and a sheild with the stamps SCHRADE WALDEN NY U.S.A. and the numbers 808Y stamped on the back. Just wondering when this knife was made. I found several Old Timers, and a Kutco or two.

THANKS!

The 808Y is the 2-3/4" "baby stockman" with yellow handles. The "Schrade Walden" tang mark would date it from circa 1948 to circa 1973. If the yellow handles look more like celluloid (glossy shiny finish) then it is older, maybe up to the mid 60's or so. If they look like delrin (dull finish) then it would be later in the era.

I appreciate the info on the Schrade. It does have the glossy shiny scales. This will be a good addition to my collection of slips. Again, I appreciate your help.
