One of my old coffee buddies handed me a 5 3/16" fixed blade knife to build a sheath for. It's a Schrade, tang marked Schrade-Walden over NY USA over H-15. It is as new, never shapened although he "cleaned" the blade so bye bye patina for now. Aluminum guard and pommel with brown plastic inserts between the guard and pommel and a stacked leather handle. It's a neat old knife although I know nothing about it. I had never even heard of the H-15. I just thought you guys might like to take a look while I had it in my shop. Larry is going to post pics for me in a while.

Nice.
The H-15 is on my list of knives to acquire......along with several thousand others. :D

It seems every ebay seller wants potential buyers to think this is was a 'military fighting' knife. My definition of such a knife would be any blade used by any fighting man, anywhere, and almost any knife would so qualify.

Codger tells about it here:

Paul, will you please get us a photo of the sheath you make so Larry can add it here to this thread?

Phil

Paul, I have an original if you need one to look at (if you are doing it in that style). I can also send you photos of some, if the pics in the referenced thread is not enough.

Codger

Codger, I've already passed the photos of the new sheath to Larry. I did it much as we did a couple of yours with no attempt to repro the original sheath in style or construction. What I did do is make a very serviceable sheath, with what, in my opinion, are improvements in style and materials. It should be up shortly whenever Larry gets around to it.

Gives me something to work toward...

Very nice work Paul. You are good.

Nice knife too.....for a fixed blade. ;)

Bill

P.S.
Oh yeah, one more question.....Why do you drink OLD COFFEE with your buddies??

El Lob; Day old coffee and day old bread is all I can afford now that I'm a Schradeaholic

Paul

El Rey del Cuero,

When you make another beautiful sheath for me...instead of me trading all of those cheaply made offshore knives to you, would you prefer some fresh coffee beans instead??

Just kidding.
