Schrade-Walden Old Timer Honesteel

I picked up a Schrade - Walden Old Timer Honesteel in original leather sheath at a yard sale the other day. I have never seen one before, but I probably don't get out much. Is this steel rare?

Not super rare, but more of a specialty item. They were'nt carried by to maany stores, but could be found at a couple.

They were expensive compared to various other pocket hones/steels. Schrade might still carry them.

I had one years ago, as well as a couple of the Gerber Sportsmans Steels. In my experience, the Gerber version was a better sharpener than the Schrade.
