Schrade Walden Set

Yeah, I watched that one go. It was a nice late Walden set. Maybe it will show up here.

Here is a picture of the set, for once the Ebay auction expires.

Complete with the sellers reflection in the glass. If I had won it, I fear I'd have a very difficult time leaving those big knives in the case. :D

Good idea Hal. That way the image will be archived keeping this thread useful in the future. ;)

Yes, I didn't want to say anything till it came in. I was able to find out that these were offered through J.C.Penny. The backs are sealed and stapled from the factory so you almost have to destroy it to get the knives out. LT was also nice enough to send me a copy of this flyer.(hope he doesn't mind me sharing it) I wasn't sure if they would come with the ecthed blade like the 25OT has, but there it is.

Here is the Schrade Version. Different sheaths and cost from 1971. The 1973 version has the same sheath as yours.

Now I just need 2 of each knife in the hinged gift boxes to complete the set. They should be easy to find rite.

Hi Irv, the price quoted for 3 of those 8OT knives in the box sounds OK for the retailed, at $2.42 each ($7.25 for 3)
I have one the same that came with an invoice - It was sold for $4.35 + tax in December 1971 ..That was a big mark up! Ken

Ken - The dealer would sell each 8OT for $7.25 (suggested retail) for a total of $21.75, not buy 3 of them for $7.25. If you multiply out each pattern like this it adds up to $164.50.

The dealer cost on the 68OT set was $64.75 though, so there was good markup.
