Schrade-Walden USA - who made this?

I recently bought off of ebay a Schrade-Walden bone stockman, made in the USA, not knowing what I'd get. What I got was a Taylor Brands product, nicely constructed, stating it was made in the USA. Does anyone know where these knives are made, and if the line will continue, or was it a one-time run?

?? I thought Tayor made his in China?? Maybe someone here knows more, I have heard rumors abou usa made Taylors but I have not seen one

SMKW is selling these knives too, and state they are USA made, with no further information. They appear to be high quality knives, although I haven't seriously tested a blade yet.

Most of the Bear Cutlery knives are usually identified by one center pin only on the scales, There are new USA made knives seen lately with three pins. I think there is another manufacturer making these although I've not seen mention of them.

I emailed Taylor asking them what's up with USA made knives. Who knows, I might get an answer. These are new knives - nothing to do with the old Schrade products - although the patterns are traditional.

Camillus was making some three pinned yellow delrin handled knives for Taylor, sold through SMKW before they went out of business. Some of these are still being sold by Smokey, although they are in the process of being "phased out"/discontinued.

If you post a photo or scan of your knife, that would help determine which company made it. Bear, Camillus, and now Queen (as I recall) have made "Schrade" knives under contract for Taylor.

My email to Taylor was graciously answered by Russell Taylor, who indicated that SMKW arranged for the manufacture of these knives, and frankly he didn't know who made them. Of greater interest was a comment he made that Taylor would be making a line of USA made Schrade knives in the near future. If I find the technical know how, I'll post a picture of my knives.

The easiest way is to scan the knife on a flatbed scanner. Then upload the image to a photo-hosting website ( www.photobucket.com is free and simple), and insert the photos' online location into your forum post.

It really is much simpler than it sounds. :)
