Is there any way to narrow down when a schrade was manufactured by the handle scales? i can include pictures if that would help.

With a Schrade knife, the stamp would be the first thing to help determine, but handle material may help with what era it was manufactured. Is your knife show a Schrade Cut Co, a Schrade Walden NY, or a Schrade Walden NY USA stamping?

This chart might help, but a pic of your knife would be very helpful.

Please include pictures showing the tang stamp and a few pictures of the whole knife. Nice well focused pics always helps. ;):)

Your pictures have to be hosted on a website like TinyPic or Photobucket. You can't post directly from your PC.

Well I did post them to photo bucket

Between 1959 to 1973 - If they were bone handles they would be from like 1953 to 1958. I'm pretty sure that is an 895 pattern, based on carbon steel blades, correct?

No the scales are delrin or something similar and the brass liners are milled and when i open the blades the side of the back springs looked milled

The milling of the liners was done after the knives were assembled. This is the reason for the cut oftentimes carrying over to the backspring.

Your handles are Delrin. They began using it in 1960 or 1961. They stopped using your tangstamp in 1973. That is the timeframe that applies to your knife. I am not aware of the year '1970' having any relevance here. Sometime before the end of production in 1973, they stopped milling the liners on this pattern, as I have two examples with no milled liners. I do not know exactly when that might have been.

And I think milling the liners was not a consistent practice even when they were doing that kind of work on the springs.
