one of my neighbors gave me this knife the other day 3 blade Model 88, and the knife is in good shape EXCEPT one side of the 2 /3 of the Bone type handle is broken off, and you can tell is was still carried in this condition for a few years, all 3 blades in GREAT shape....what year ws this one made?????? Thanks

That knife was made between 1946 and 1973.

There should be 3 numbers in the pattern number, such as 881 or something. That may help narrow it down more.

Is it bone, or possibly jigged delrin (a synthetic handle material)?

How handy are you? There are people here that can rehandle a knife like yours...

If you look long enough, you will eventually see a knive like yours on Ebay with really bad blades but nice handles. You could pick up one like that for a decent price. I'm no help with rehandling, but there are several members that are. They could offer some alternate handle materials as well.
