Just bought a used Schrade. Having trouble identifying it. Two blade gunstock trapper.Yellow scales. Shield says Schrade. Clip point is marked Schrade in capital block letters on one side and 94OYT on other. No markings on spey blade. Thinking it is Chinese made, but the Taylor cutlery version has a shield that says Old Timer. This says Schrade but the OTY indicates Old Timer Yellow. Tried to patina the blades, they are stainless. Anyone have any thoughts? Title should say 94OTY.

Definitely a Taylor, mystery stainless steel, made in china wanna be Schrade.
The original(pre 2004) carbon steel Schrade's had Schrade USA and the model # on the tangs.
Pre 2004 stainless Schrade's & Uncle Henry's will say Schrade+ USA with the Model #.

There is a lot of good info here, which I found here.

Thanks for the info, I will check it out. In the meantime, I will use this one as an EDC for awhile and see how it performs. Edge holding will be lacking I am sure. While not a US made Schrade like my others, it may still be ok for some daily tasks. I will throw a bit of abuse its way and report back on how it holds up.
