hi im new to the forum but need a bit of advice.
i have a schrade wolstenholm penknife with 3 cutting blades.on 1 of the blades it says 'schrade 1787 wolstenholm IXL limited edition' it also has a rosewood/walnut handle(not sure which)it also has on each end of the handle silver cappings(these are stamped with a hallmark).it is 5" when closed and 8"open.
i need some history of it and perhaps a value.

the Schrade I*XL Commemorative stockman shows up on ebay not infrequently. knife in excellent condition but with no papers & packaging usually sells for under $50.
but it is a big, usable, knife, so it might be "worth more" to keep , use and enjoy. i have a spare one which i have sharpened and have a belt sheath for it, and i give it a day of work from time to time. roland

My dad has one of these and he was also wondering about the pricing of the knife. He got his back in the 80's as a gift and has the original case and authentication papers, but he can't find any place that can give him an estimate on it. Do you guys have any idea on what it might be worth with all of the original papers and casing?

ebay provides the best way to price a knife. search Schrade IXL and find other Commemorative Stockman knives and watch what they sell for.
unused with box and papers, maybe $75 is my GUESS.
