I saw a schrade x-timer, one hand opening, black blade, etc.

Are these good quality knives in the tradition of value from Schrade? It was only 20 bucks.

I think for the price, it is. It was one of the 'new' Schrades that were gonna help save the company. I think the MSRP on this knife was +$50. We're all spoiled by how cheap they went on Ebay... $20 is about right. At one point I bought a lot of 12 for $10.00 each. I gave them away to friends, kept one for myself, and I like it. All my friends liked theirs... but not one of them would have spent anywhere near the suggested retail price on one.

I do like all the S-timers. I posted a pic a while back of me shaving hair off my arm with one of them. It was one of the sharpest production knives I've ever handled. So much for people who look down on Schrade3+ Stainless steel.

Phil, that's a lot of hair!
Are you sure that's not a scalp from one of the "Wee People"?

Lots of funny guys here... I'm usually one of them.

Shann, I forgot to ask what X-timer you were referring too. I guess I was thinking of the 60 or 70 TX, those with the textured (checkered) metal handles. Others of the X-timers- like the XT2B shown in the photo above, have a rubberized handle. And they do make a folder in that series as well. I like 'em both.

You ask in another thread if you should buy Schrades. Hard to get any other answer but 'yes' in this forum. But shop for the best price for whatever you want... either a 'collectible' or 'user' knife.

Gotta go, time to lift another scalp.

Phil
