Right now I am looking for a 2OT in mint or near mint condition. I know that if and when I find it, it will not be cheap, and I expect it will take me a while to obtain, but, hey, without goals we wouldn't have anything we really wanted.
What Schrade are you currently seeking?

Hey UL I think we stacked the knives wrong .

I need a new quest. It seems the 2OT in mint condtion is a little too hard to get a line on.
So - what else is there?

A Schrade Walden Golden Spike is a good start,or a Schrade Kious, or S/Barnett,or Lake and Walker SLW1 <only 1000 made> Schrade Rogers Changers, A S/ D'Holder <exquisite knives>. a Schrade Loveless <one of the greatest appreciating Schrades of all>.a 1947 S/Walden Gentlemans Gold, a S/Cut Co Calendar, an early S/Cut Co from the 30's which was the forerunner to the 2OT and 3OT with Schrade stamped on the bottom bolster <you still see them occasionally>.... a few that spring to mind....I have managed to snag them all to date......so they do exist.....good luck....all the above are featured on lrv's site backed in most cases by the original paper bling. Here's a couple to shoot for.

124UH
123OT

These two 4" beauties would make most Schrade collectors a happy camper when they score. They are a single blade, thin, and very cool. Not too common, but attainable. Not near the wallet strain as a 2OT.

I've seen a couple 123 get close to a 2OT in prices but your correct, they are at least obtainable.
Still wished they had put a liner lock on em.

The genuine bone version of the 123/124 appears almost every week, and always for less than the plastic handled versions. It is the Statue of Liberty knife, and I think it even has a sterling silver shield.

I want a NIB USA-made LB7 (preferably with a s/n) but I don't want to go through eVilbay.

Careful on the SOL knife. Many more were done in Delrin than bone.

Stelth - shoot me an email (drking13 at earthlink dot net). I can point you to a NIB USA LB7 that is not fleabay. I don't know about the serial number, though.

How can a collector be looking for just one, or two, or three knives ? Schrade & relatives made thousands of excellent knives.
Check out the excellent Gent's knives (mostly S-W & SCC) and any SCC (Schrade Cut. Co.) 2 blade Jack. they are from a time when USA made folders were some of the best in the world.
that said, i'm looking for a 2OT also, but who here isn't ?

Interesting! Thanks. I have never seen a Delrin one. The colors of bone do vary. I believe there were a few made with a gold filled etch on the blade, but I have not seen one of those. I think there is a searchable thread here somewhere.
BTW, I am searching for a tip top example of the Washington bolstered Cutco precursor to the 2OT (I have a poor one), and a blue bone rope jig 100 anniversary 25OT, and any spiffy old Cutco cattle knives, Cutco stockmans, Cutco "New Hampshire" knives, and....and... oh, you know.

Hoo Roo and Hoo Rah to Cob,for all those beautiful, collectable knives that now live in Australia!

I don't need any more Schrade knives. And I won't look for any more. At least not until after my 145LWE arrives at the post office. With my SCC fixed blade with the black hard rubber handle. Those should get here after my Sears Craftsman - Old Crafty #9546 stockman.

...and I should have added that I wouldn't have half of my collectables if it wasnt for that gentleman himself....Ikedoc.......dont giggle Dennis you know it will aggravate your broken ribs mate..trust you are on the mend and nearly dangerous again.....Hoo Roo my other Tennessee mate....

...on the subject of Schradequests..a Schrade knife you rarely hear about that I should have added to the above desirable list is 'The Spitfire'...what an amazing design this knife was and the use of exotic materials for Schrade in its final days......The Spitfire LTD has ATS34 blade, premium G-10 handle, unique titanium locking mechanism and rather unique lanyard...Larry V. has a brochure for this knife on his site. I have a mint version with bling and box from memory which I also obtained originally from Ikedoc....the Spitfire is one of the sharpest blades you will ever feel/see. I think they were about US$200+ when released so not all that many would have been sold I feel and folk in the know of exactly what they are have snagged them for practically nothing on Ebay when they come up.....one to look out for...beautifully crafted little knife from the very last days..IMHO. To me that's what collecting is all about. Going after certain knives that I have come to desire through research or the recommendations of other collectors, otherwise it would be knife buying instead of knife collecting.

That is a little bad ass. I'd never seen one before (or never paid attention likely). The retail price was $115.00 so if must have been a durable little guy.

The Lake and Walker knife is one worth picking up. Someone mentioned it as well. They were high dollar too, and I think I got one for $12.95. They still show up from time to time.

Plus, if you are lucky Pyg, they did offer this one in a clampack. Mine came in the dark blue box, and is my only tactical Schrade knife.

If you like tacticals, the Silhouette is readily available for a scant price, and it retailed for $69.00.

It came in a couple styles and either black or blue accent.
