I think you are bang on...Idont have a vast experience in folders as of yet..but when I saw your question...I had a lok-see....here is a paragraph..followed by the site I got it from..hope this helps....because my Schrades are damned nice to use!!...

Yep good ol 1095... It doesn't take long to get a scary edge on that stuff :thumbup:

Of course, that is only on the original U.S Schrades, not the current production models

Amen to that!. I'd also add that cut for cut and dollar for dollar, you'll also find that the edge holding ability on USA Schrade produced knives just cannot be beat in value. :thumbup:
