Ok I’m sorry I misunderstood the name but mine is the one in the top picture and it came wit the sheath that has no stone sheath attached. No brass rivets it has a silver snap on the handle strap
Welcome to Bladeforums Rturner.

From my research, the 171 UH was the Uncle Henry "Pro Hunter", first produced in 1971. And the Schrade/Walden tang stamp was used on the Pro Hunter only from 1971 through 1973, then they dropped the "Walden" on future runs.

So I'd say it was made between 1971 and 1973.

The first knife pictured below is the original Schrade/Walden Uncle Henry 171UH "Pro Hunter" model with the aluminum "birds head" pommel. But they didn't keep the aluminum pommel for very long.

The second pic is of the next version of Pro Hunter 171UH with a different, flat brass pommel that appeared for the first time in the 1973 Schrade catalog. That version doesn't have "Walden" on it.

Around 1991 Schrade produced a "Pro Hunter Series" of knives under the "Old Timer" brand which look nothing like the original Schrade Uncle Henry Pro Hunter 171UH model. Here are a few examples- https://www.knifecenter.com/series/schrade-knives/schrade-pro-hunter-series . Schrade using the same name (Pro Hunter) could cause some confusion. So if you did a Google search for "Schrade Pro Hunter" you might very well see one of the "Pro Hunter Series" knives.

And the #08424 is you knife's individual serial number.

And here is a link to a Schrade catalog from 1972. If you scroll down a bit to page 2 you will find the top knife I pictured in this post, the 171UH "Pro Hunter" model.- https://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us/Catalogs/images/1972-SW-CATS.pdf

If you have a Schrade/Walden knife marked "171UH" that isn't one pictured above, then perhaps you could post a picture of it.

Only paid members can load pictures directly from their computer to this site. The rest of us have to use a hosting site. Load your picture onto a hosting site, then link to it here. Imgur.com and postimage seem to be the easiest to use. You can find more information in this thread.

Congrats on posting the picture.

It's entirely possible, and I think likely, that the sheath is not original to the knife. All of the 171UH sheaths I've seen have a pocket for the sharpening hone. I checked the old Schrade/Walden catalogs from 1971-72 that show your version of the 171UH, and both show the sheath with the pocket. The 1973 catalog shows the other version with the flat brass pommel.

It's not unusual for people to find a replacement sheath from a different knife, or make or modify a sheath to serve their needs.

Again, your knife was made between 1971 and 1973.

When design parameters change, there's usually a transition period of mix&match...new style knife + old style sheath or vice versa, etc.

I understand the sheath is old, but the stitching does not appear to be in-line as a factory sheath would be.
I have neither seen, nor can I find an example similar to yours.
Could you please post a picture of the back of the sheath?
