I just got my custom SAK Explorer form Mr. Scibeer. I've carried a SAk in my left front pocket for the last 20 years, and for the last few it's been an Explorer. The two tools I missed on that knife were the saw, and the file.

I put out an inquiry to the SOSAK, and received a nice bit of direction to Scibeer, who nailed everything down and had my new explorer to me in a week!

Outstanding work!

Definitely one of the best little survival knives a man could own.

Robert,

Congratulations on your knife. It will serve you well.

You're preaching to the choir here, sir!

Not only does Bill do mods, he also does wonderful restoration work. He restored my beloved 23 year old Pioneer that was a wee bit worn after EDC for most of that time.

Indeed, not only is Bill a talented craftsman, he is a gentleman as well.

Bill (Scibeer) is the genius creator of my 84mm Vic Senior Alumnus Plus. It's my EDC now and probably always will be.

She's a beaut. Sort of like a Ranger with the phillips/mag layer. Scibeer is a master. I have an alox Explorer he made and it's been my EDC since I got it.

I contacted Scibeer by using the email address is in his Bladeforums profile. He's a nice guy and does great work. Here are some photos of one of the knives he sent me:

Wonderful knives, gentlemen! It's amazing how much those blades can mean after a few years. I had a Swiss Champ done up at the factory by my mother while I was in high school, had the name engraved, and it needs some restoration after years of salt water and grease in the Marines. I think I'll be sending that off for some work as well.

Revolvergeek, I like the pocket clip on the alox knife. Is the first knife in the last photo a custom made scientist?

supratentorial,

The Alox knife with the clip is an Electrician Plus and it works very well. It rides low and secure in the pocket.

The black knife is indeed a Scibeer custom Scientist. I never could find an original one at a price that I was willing to pay for it, so I had him make me one up out of an Explorer. It is a very slim, light little knife.

Here are a couple more Scibeer custom models in my collection:

The famous Senior Mechanic:

The beautiful Serrated Yeoman:

A subtle layer variant on the vernerable Explorer:

The airplane-friendly Sci-Phi:

The mysterious Sci-Phi-2:

(actually, this last one is just a "Photoshopped" photo of the Sci-Phi.)

I have been very fortunate to have so many wonderful Scibeer custom models!
