Welcome all of you in this hopefully beautiful new year! :) -well, time will tell...

I would like to share with you guys the biggest, hardest, bad-ass'st and most awesome project of mine from the last year. It was a true privilege and honor, that I had the luck to make this one.
It is my vision of a scimitar, naturally forged of my own damascus steel. The handle is iron and wenge.

I wish a splendid year to everyone! :D

That’s FANTASTIC my friend....Bravo!!!!!

Great way to start the year buddy...

Wow man fantastic blade. This is what I pictured Drizzit carrying in the Forgotten Realms books. Really great work can’t wait to see more.

Glad you like it! :)
Never heard of the book thou... Is it worth to read?

This looks simply amazing. Drop dead gorgeous.

But why did you call it a scimitar?

This looks alot more like a Makhaira, a type of ancient greek sword. It is a dead ringer.

Thanks! :)
See?! That is exactly why I wrote there that "It is my vision of a scimitar". It is not a reproduction!
Believe it or not you are a 10th person, saying that I am wrong, and this is something other than a scimitar. Btw, there was't two analogous opinion among them :D
Sorry if you are offended or something, but I don't really care if I am wrong.

You have deeply offended me sir!

Lol I’m joking obviously. Truth is sword naming is largely a made up thing for the benefit of those trying to make conversation easier. For example many of the names we classify Japanese swords with today were not in common usage when the blades were heing used historically. Since there was no internet there wasn’t great awareness of all the variety of swords.

In many historical languages swords were classified as “sword” or “sabre” and that’s it.

Yeah, I can agree with you on that! :D
People like to label everything, I know that. I just don't deem it important.
