Might someone be able to show/tell me what an actual scimitar (Russian?) looks like, and what is the type of grind? Thank you kindly.

In their museum store there is a historically accurate scimitar made by Armart. You could also get some excellent info off of the forums over there on the scimitar.

Actually a scimitar is a long, sharply curved saber. Also known as a shamshir.

7Cain, what you might be thinking about is a jambiya. Jambiya's also have sharply curved blades, the scabbards are often very ornate.

This is more or less "Russian", and resembles a shamshir or classic "scimitar" in the hilt design, though I can't see the blade clearly.

For more info on the Hevsurs check out Christoph Amberger's book "Secret History of the Sword". They apparently duel using an odd low crouching style, almost like Harimau with swords.
