So I'm slowly and painfully working my way back into some Busse knives. And since the Busse Combat folder is still but a dream and figured the next best thing was the Swamp Rat Rat Trap. It's not INFI but S30V is the New Hotness for folders right now anyway right. All I can say is WOW! This folder is so nice. I dare say it's the most perfect folder I've ever owned and that's including some $500.00 jobs. Everything about it seems to fit my needs 100%. I couldn't have asked for a better EDC piece. And it most definately will go with me everywhere I go. It came extremely sharp. The edge felt like it had some rough spots in it so I hit it on my spyderco ultra fine block and stropped it a few times and then it scared me so I folded it and put it in my pocket. I always wondered about the quality of Swamp Rat knives since it was a Busse product but not quite of the Busse Combat line. Now I see the only difference is the name and choice of materials. Anything Jerry Busse's name is tied in with is going to be of the utmost quality. I can see that in every small detail in this folder. Wonderful. I can't believe I almost got another Strider AR instead. And now I'm glad I didn't. I'm sold on Swamp Rat.

did you guys get yours from the store? mine came with a plain, unmarked clip. just wondering.
 
Where the heck does one get a RT these days?
 
The Rat Trap has been discontinued. I would suggest finding one on the secondary market before people start hoarding them ;)

yeah, i ordered mine the day before they stopped taking orders. it has a plain, unmarked clip. gotta say, i'm pretty envious of the swamp rat clip, but i think i'll survive ;)

Glad I got one before they stopped making them. I too did not get the black Swamp Rat clip but I prefer the gray myself. I just got mine and love it. It carries low in the pocket and came very sharp.
 
Didn't know any different about the clip. Cool... something extra cool. I got mine from a forum member. Real nice guy. I had been wanting one of these for a while and just kept dragging my feet. Kept buying guns is what I did. LOL. But I read that they were goin bye bye and decided to jump when one was offered. Shame about the clip... I've already put some wear on it. After a few days of carry... I gotta say this thing is NICE! I've already used it like 20 times.
 
Had one, but got rid of it....couldn't bring myself to use a 160 folder....I rather my smaller fixed blades.
 
Ya, ya, ya... Go ahead, rub it in!... I was looking foward to picking up 1-2 with tax returns this next Spring, guess not... You could have atleast made sure that the pics were of REALLY BAD quality, but nooooo... You just HAD to rub it in, didn't you! :(

Hi lanzo,

Every Rat Trap issue that has come up has been resolved without any hesitation on Swamp Rats part. I have never heard them mention a different warranty standard, so I think it's safe to assume that they do have the same warranty. :thumbup:
