Score! "Antique" pedal operated grinding wheel, $50!

Check this out: only into this whole hatchet and axe thing for about a day, and on a whim did a craigslist search for "pedal grinding wheel." Turned up this one, and bought it for $50.

There's sizable chip in the side of the wheel, and it's not running true. I suspect it was dropped or knocked over. However, it's complete and functional, and I think will respond well to refurbishment.

It's not cast iron, all steel angle and stamped steel parts, save the trunnions and bearing parts, which appear to be cast iron.

I'll post some better pics after I get it home and unloaded.

Anyone ever see one of these? Any ideas on fixing the chip?

There is this guy down the street that has one, and he threw a new wheel on it, and it's being used as a front yard decoration! (I want it badly)
