Score at Blade Show

I went to Blade for the first time yesterday, and managed to score my first Busse knife.

How is it different from the one at the top?

Would you use it all the time or alternate it with another knife? Or would you not use it at all?

Congrats man. You are lucky for sure, thats a cool way to get started with Busse and kin addiction! Check the Busse exchange for sheaths there are.many options from approx 30 to 50 . HACK stands for hog apprentice custom knife. That one is based on the Scrapyard War Dog.

the 1 of 12 means they only made 12 in that run and it's the first of the run.
good score.
Since it's your first and you spent all your funds on a very cool score, I'm willing to make you a simple leather sheath gratis.
If you're interested and your folks are OK with you sending the knife out, send me an email and we can make arrangements.
If you really want kydex, there are several good benders here on the forums, like Kiah & Azwelke. (I have an Azwelke sheath for my Boss Jack)
 
Thanks a lot guys, I went to the dinner last night and had a great time, and met some really nice people. I'll definitely be spending more time on this forum from now on.

Thanks a lot, I probably should have consulted that thread before posting but it slipped my mind.
What exactly is a double cut finish? Do you happen to know how this is different from the other batches?
 
yours is the satin finish - the 1 of 12 double cut hack is on the exchange.
double cut is sort of like a sandblast finish - at least that's what I think I heard it described as.
I'm sure someone with a clue will be here soon to correct me.

you are correct, double cut is a blasted finish.

To be completely honest, it just landed right next to me; I was talking to another vendor at the time, not even thinking about being able to catch one of those cards. What's funny is that earlier on, a friend told me "The knife will make it to the right person." Weird. Otherwise, though, I would not have bought a Busee for years, I wouldn't have met a lot of great people at the induction dinner, and I wouldn't be on this forum right now.
 
Just to clarify, the 1 of 12 is on all 12 of the blades. There is no 2 of 12 etc.

Oh, yes. For example, I got one from a slightly different batch with a slightly longer blade ... otherwise, very similar to yours. There were only a few of these 1 of 12 batches (don't remember how many).

I particularly like the nice, sharp hollow ground edge. Very, very good cutter ... in INFI ... and a very nice price.
