Me and my son do a lot of wade fishing and my son has ruined a cell phone and several wallets by getting them soaked. In Wal Mart the other day he saw a small waterproof box for 5.90 he bought it, I checked it out and it seemed to be very well made. I filled it with toilet tissue and even though it says do not submerge on the side, I sunk it in the bathtub for an hour. It passed with flying colors and as far as I can tell not a drop got inside. I went back today and bought me one, it would make a great kit box and I am very pleased with the quality. Chris

They just upgraded our local Walmart and I also just saw those boxes in the camping section. Might have to go back and pick one up.

Good score. Think I'll run over and see if our not so locat WW has them. I have heard that they added several nice items to camping, so guess I better go look see.

Yup, Went crazy and spent a $20.00. They had both the large and small. Picked up the small, gonna use it for my FAK, dry fire and cell phone. Got a deal on one of their windproof/water resistant butane lighters with enough savings to pay for the butane. Also got some wetwipes and lightsticks.

Those are nice, not all Wal-Marts have them though, none of my local Wal-Marts have them, but one about 90 minutes away does.

Excellent!
Too bad we don't have W.world in the EU:grumpy: Well, not entirely:D

I have 3 Wal Marts here, be more than happy to send you one! You pay shipping though:D . How much would it cost to ship a huge building over seas?

Thank you kindly runningboar for the heads up on these.

Found the small ones, $6.26, at the Woodburn WM. The larger version was out of stock.

I was able to pack my fat Mission wallet, Nokia cell and car keys with some room to spare. The label says "shatterproof polycarbonate" so they should take some trauma (a ziplock will also carry a cell and you can use the cell thru the bag, add some air and it floats, but this setup won't take much blunt force). This one will stow in the cabin of a Ranger 21' sailboat.

Some pics, of the filled small box, for your amusement:
