Score! Turned out to be a 3 new Ka Bar night!

So out of frustration from dealing with Tomars for the new Dogs Head I went looking elsewhere for one for a good couple of hours. Finally found a new Dogs Head for $5 less than Tomars then I hit kind of a jackpot. I found 2 TWO still new in the box old stock discontinued knives! Just scored me a BNIB Next Gen 1223 AND a BNIB 1265 leather large tanto! All 3 knives are shipping out to me today! My source just happened to have them left in old stock un opened! Thought scoring my BNIB 1264 over a year ago would be as lucky as Id get but WOW! It took me 2 YEARS to find that 1264 then tonight it just took a couple of hours of stumbling around to find the 1223 and 1265! Will post pics when they arrive

Guess my hunt is finally on for the plain edge 8 inch tanto now ha!
 
actually make that a 2 Ka Bar night. OsoGrandKnives didnt have the 1223 apparently. Will compensate by buying that flawless commemorative (VJ Day I believe) Mk2 from this guy at a local flea market. Has the nicer almost gun metal blue looking coating, lighter colored leather, the engraving and gold paint art work are flawless and it has a perfect sharpened swedge
 
Wow CC great score!!! Did they happen to have multiple 1265? Man, you gotta get some pics goin bro, all this reading is killing us! You have a great set comin together. For some reason I'm always drawn to the discontinued stuff, not because its discontinued, it just seems to keep working out that way...sigh...
 
Yes they have both the 1264 and 1265 unfortunately I was contacted by forum management via personal email and told not to mention vendors that do not support the forum. They have a couple of each left. Ill have my 1265 today so I will finally have my 1264 and 1265 LNIB set. The vendor who shall not be named *cough* also turned out to not have the 1223 I ordered which is fine. After some research the 1223 appears to suck so hey that frees up cash for the SOG Mini Vulcan tini blade Ive got arriving today as well. Just to note:today I am sending 7 fixed blade Ka Bars to Josh at Razors edge to have the edges repaired and sharpened and all 7 will be getting fresh cerakote blades at the least. My 1211 Josh will grind down the guard to a half guard and we agreed on an inch of medium jimping from the guard forward. Will have all 7 back in a month.
 
oh Im working with nothing but a webcam. Will be setting up a photobucket acct today and hope that works. Love my Ka Bars Ive got a pile of em. Watch this space for pics I guess. Already wrapped up the 7 knives so cant do any before stuff but am very much looking forward to getting them back esp the 1211 and 1217 Im having the blade done in Magpul Flat Dark Earth only. Everything but the tantos will be getting sharp swedge work as well. Josh did an amazing job on my Ontario 498 Ka Bar clone when I first got it it wouldnt cut a piece of toast now I could shave with it so much much better
 
The enthusiasm is strong in this one! Can't wait to see how these all turn out Cross. And I'm glad you now have the ability to display pitchers. Whilst we all love seeing shots, Slice goes crazy if there isn't any. So much so that he has special versions of the classics like Huckleberry Finn, Robinson Crusoe and 20000 Leagues Under The Sea in comic book form.

That pic looks kinda photoshopped... Prob looks better in person. I'd also think maybe black handles would go better.
Now, if its all banged up and loved looking, I bet it'd be awesome! I love a well used looking blade. On that note, mine all need more love, some are too pretty. Hope this 3 weeks goes by quick for ya CC!
 
Ive posted that same pic lol! The color is not produced by Cerakote anymore its called Coyote Brown with Coyote Tan being the closest nowdays but juuust a bit to light for me so Im having a very straight 1217s blade done in Magpul Flat Dark Earth it should look really good. Another of the 7 blades is a short tanto with a jacked up edge Josh is re doing for me that one will be burnt bronze all but the Kraton so that should look really good as well. The jacked up 1211 is the big project Josh is gonna grind the guard down to a half guard and machine in medium jimping for the first inch along the sping after the guard then the entire knife will be sprayed Armor Black from tip to pommel. Josh does swedges really well he put a hell of an edge on my new Ontario 468 Ka bar knock off

Ahh yeah, looks much better in that pic. More lifelike. And that is a nice shiny edge.
