*jawdrop*
I'm humbled, folks. I knew we had good folks here, but wow.
As for the "knife"...
The second I took it out of the envelope, I knew it was a copy. Taylor box, as flimsy as if it were made of paper instead of cardstock. Schrade-styled paperwork, with the Taylor mark at the bottom.
The knife though... sigh. No lanyard hole. Shield upside down. Edges so squared it feels like holding a block of wood. Blade that I would swear is stainless, from the polish and smell. The snap is anemic at best, worse than even my well-loved 1960s Case '65.
The sheath is what got me. In this place, I know
exactly what it should have. I still have Dad's- it wasn't in the truck when the tools were stolen. That sheath is 20 years old, and the leather is thicker and more solid than the new one.
Worst of all-
it doesn't even lock. Doesn't that make it a 126 instead?
Oh well. Hopefully it'll swing, and if anyone has a lead on one, I'm open.
Edited to add... in a moment of sheer need for sanity, I stopped by a local hardware. Found an original 77OT for $22, and that helps. Still watching for a 125, though.
