After watching forums and dealers and Ebay for what seemed like forever for a pattern I liked at a fair price, I finally got a Case Tony Bose model, the Dogleg Jack. It just came today and I''m loving it so far. The quality and craftmanship on this knife is everything I'd expected it to be, really top notch. I think it may render a lot of my other, not-as-nice slipjoints obsolete. This seems like all I'd ever want or need in a slippie, short of getting a full on custom from select makers. I am really looking forward to carrying it.

Very nice catch, I agree with you the quality and craftsmanship really shows in your knife...

Take care,

Sunburst

Congratulations...surely a knife to treasure for a long time. Enjoy it in good health.

I've admired that pattern for a while. I've always balked at those Case/Bose knives, because they seem expensive for factory knives, but after buying one, the pruner, and seeing the quality, I will try for some more! Thanks for the pics!

Congrats! I've only heard great things about those Bose Case knives. Glad yours met and exceeded expectations. Looks like serious quality.

Congratulations on the addition to your knife collection

I'll add my $.02 worth...

I just held/opened/photographed/almost drooled on a knife last week made by T Bose(see it here http://www.knifetalkforums.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=11180&Main=11162#Post11180) and actually saw this one before it was assembled. I have the Case/Bose Lockback Whittler which I compared it with. I can say that Case has went to extremes to make the collab knives as close to the way that Tony makes them as well as any production company could possible do on an assembly line. They're worth the money you pay for them.

You may not know that the smooth operation of the Case/Bose Collab knives is due to a bronze bushing on the pivot. As far as I know, Case didn't do that until Mr. Bose came on the scene. That's my take on it anyway.

I boght the first one in bone and have all they have produced in bone. Last year I liked the whittler so much I bought one for my pocket. Each and every piece has been top quality. Any one know what the new piece might be for 2007.

If I recall correctly what our own wise and all-knowing Bastid once said, the new pattern is usually displayed at the Shot Show which is in January, I believe. The knives themselves are not available until several months later. I can't wait to see what it will be.

They do announce it at the Shot show which is in February this year in Orlando, FL (Not Las Vegas as in recent years). It's going to be a dandy :)

The Shot Show IS in January...around the 10th.
