here are the pics of the new knives, including the newest addition, a scrade carbon steel melon tester which I picked up this AM.

Sounds like you're doing OK there, MM, good for you! Show us some pics when you get a chance. No camera? Experiment with the flat bed scanner.

i'll get some up in just a while

It sounds like you lucked out and found an old timer with some Old Timers and a liking for young folk who like Schrades. That is a winning combination in my book! Congratulations!

the pics are in the origional post. also including a carbon steel scrade melon tester marked Shrade cut co. walden, new york with imitation jigged bone

Nice pieces, Muskrat Man

I particularly like the melon tester in jigged bone (don't see any like that around) and the trapper.

Thanks for sharing...

Glenn

MM.. nice knives. I like the melon tester too, pretty cool with the thumb stud on it.

But on to another subject, get this guys: our newest member is 15. See how he-- like second nature-- gets a grip on posting pics, making the most of the technology available to him. Took me forever to get the hang of adding photos. Let's make him our honorary Schrade Knives Collectors Forum head techie, huh?

Phil

thanks tex, I post pics on a bunch of different forums all time. I just use hunt101 to host my pics and paste the provided url here. i'm poor so I got to make the best of what I have, maybe I wouldn't be so poor if I stopped buying knives :p , but I don't think that will happen too soon :) . thanks for the kind words

Welcome MM,

Hope you are a responsible user of your knives as well, as you can help us re-educate a new generation of young folks to the normal everyday use of cutlery.
Those are some nice knives you've found, and it's good to have some young "Blood"......ooops! ....PEOPLE here in the forum.

Take care,

Bill

thanks el lobo, people misuse knives everyday, kids (and older people as well) just don't understnd knives were not meant to be used as screwdrivers, prybars and other assorted uses. Ths only knife designed for that is the swiss army knife! :p . people think knives are good for nothing but violence which is a bad mistake. Knives are much more than that, knives can be used for self defense but take too many bad hits from the media in being used in stabbings and fights ect. but people don't realise that they use knives everyday for something, wether it be to spread thier butter or slice and apple. I am responsible when I use my knives, wether they be butter of bowie. I love to whittle and make wood fishing lures with a knife, 4 sided, and sandpaper. I usually use a boker USA stockman for this. and always remember "never whittle towards yourself, or pi$$ against the wind" :D :D
have a good'un

Hi mm,

unfortunately your are absolutely right :(
Not only the people in the USA forget that a knife is the great tool of the mankind. Also here in germany most people think a knife = a deadly weapon.
This make me so miserable :( :( :(

Nevertheless have a knife day ;)

Juventud, divino tesoro....

muskrat man,

Nice group of knives you've got there. I got my first Schrade in the 1960's, I was younger than you are now and it was not my first knife, things were different then, I used my knife at school all the time.

yep, now you use a knife at school they'll have the whole police department there. the times they are a changin (or have changed). I'm glad i'm homeschooled, don't have to go by school rules, and don't have to put up with a bunch of other idoits my own age. I believe I got my first knife when I was.. 5 i think, a little zytel handled lockback buck knife with about a 1 1/2" blade. the good 'ol days have passed and we don't know what is to come. but nothin we can do about it, just gotta ride the rollercoaster to the end, and do what we can along the way.
