And I know next to nothing about it!

The whole thing is in great shape, aside from being splattered with green paint. No major rust or corrosion anywhere, the jaws are clean and even and open smoothly, etc.

Anyone want to educate me just a little bit on what I got?

(PS, for those wondering... Apparently someone decided to throw it away. A friend of mine went dumpster diving, for whatever reason, and found it. He gave it to me. :D)

This is a current production product (parts are readily available) and retails for about $700, so good score.

Dang... Thats a lot of money to just throw away. I almost feel guilty taking it off my buddies hands now...

Nice, I found a wilton vice in my old barn when I bought my house. had some surface rust on it but it was pretty nice.

Wow, thats one heck of a nice pickup, you'll have that for a lifetime and beyond. I scored an old Wilton 111092/3 from a flea market back in the 80's for next to nothing - painted it krinkle-black, slipped a pair of magnetic rubber jaws on it and covered the 4 bolt heads with 4 spare chrome caps from a Harley chrome kit. The vice has been through hell and back more than once, was a helping hand for numerous hot-rod builds and a slew of home projects, and it's still kicking in it's blazing glory.:)
