I just found this great example of a very early (1977/78) Luckett knife at a flea market. Needless to say they had no idea what they had. Its an early model of his Texas Bowie. The blade is also longer than anything else hes made for the past 30 years. Pics are deceiving...its really freaking big.
Impressively, its still as solid now as the day it was made. There is no movement at all. It is very sharp and appears to have never been resharpened. I emailed the maker and he told me the year it was made and that the blade is 440c. He also said he didn't make the sheath but it was a "nice piece".
