We hit the jackpot in Eugene!!!!

Todd saw these on a guys table, and told the guy he wanted ALL of them. The guy said " I don't know....." Todd told him, "yes, well I want them all NOW." The guys said "these are Todd Begg knockoffs, and a bunch of people want them." Todd said, "yeah I know! I'm Todd Begg." The guy hung his head in ...................shame??? and gave Todd a smoking deal, 50 BIG ones.....dollars that is.

I think its wonderful that they acknowledged its an American design...now if they would just go that little extra step and put the designers NAME and logo on the other side and send me a check all would be peachy!!!!

If I buy one will you put your logo on it for a small fee? Thats about the only way I can afford a Begg

Man, I hope some day i see knockoffs of my designs! Must be cool to see how someone else does your design. How do they stack up compared to what Todd produces?

*this is all ignoring the fact that the company is 100% ripping you off*

HA!!!
Thanks, that is damn funny.

I'm NOT a lawyer, but it would seem that if you can prove he said "these are Todd Begg knock offs" that while you might not be successful in protecting an unpatented design, surely you could nail the bastards for using your name to peddle that China crap!

Hmmmm.

Clearly you are over charging for your knives Todd!!!

;)

(hey, where's the "hiding behind the couch" emoticon???) :D

I'm a little confused by the impression i get reading..

Why the excitement? .. is there some reason you would want knockoffs of your own work? .. if its about the money (only), getting a deal, i find that to be a strange consolation.

i Dont get it..

You should have found someone to loan you a large vise and set it up in the middle of the show and then snap the blades off in front of everyone there. Signed busted fakes could be future collectors items...lol.

Nice to see someone selling that stuff get a real-life encounter with the maker that's being ripped off. Shame is definitely the appropriate reaction, but now the question is whether or not it makes a lasting impression. Doubtful, I suppose, but one never knows.

Aside from being a stolen design, they actually have the gall to put "Handcrafted" on the back of the blade. If it were me, I'd take a Sharpie and put "handcrafted my ass!" underneath that. Then I'd send it back to the president of MTech by registered mail.

Doug, thanks for filling me in, i missed the last few posts. Totally makes sense now.

Anyone know the name and email address of this pres. of Mtech?

i have heard the value of ONE single person who is PERSISTENT can change almost ANYTHING.
