Scored some fatwood

Did a little hiking Saturday in Gainesville and found some fatwood. I know if anyone else would appreciate some good fatwood it is you guys. The mail man drop off my long awaited Ontario RAT folder just before we went off to hike so it got a good break in helping clean the fatwood up.

This small stump was some rich fatwood but I did not have the tools to take it

Nice score! How do you like the RAT folder? I think they look pretty sweet, especially for the prices they go for. Gotta pick me up one soon.

That wood is not fat. Its just big boned .

small world. I too just received my RAT-1` folder. Bought it from Chestnut Ridge. I am not a big fan of AUS 8 steel, but this knife seems sturdy, and keeps an edge.

I was scoring fatwood down in the ONF this past weekend. Around Gainesville, there is a LOT of the stuff. San Felasco park is full of it.
