I stopped at a garage sale yesterday and then had a couple of od military stuff sacks, one had a a US military M-1949 mountain down filled sleeping bag and M-1945 bag cover, the other had what I though was military tent halves, new model, but turned out to be 2 pup tents (4 halves). It was missing the poles and stakes, but got the whole lot for under $20 and they are in excellent condition. I figure I can make some field expedient stakes, put some 550 to use and have some decent (but heavy) shelter.
