Scotch-Brite belt

Scotchbrite belts, at least the ones I've used, leave more of a satin finish. I've used them to put a new finish on blades that are scratched or rusted, not so much for sharpening. Haven't used one that leaves a mirror polish.
 
As cbwx34 said I havn't found them good for a mirror polish as they are a bit rough for that. Used them on a vari-speed 2"x72" for years.
