I did not want to continue taking the other thread offtopic (link) so I am making a new one. Here are before and after pics of my umfaan after I used scotch brite on the handles:

I tried it after reading about it in another thread. Here's another thread on the topic: link

I was dumb and forgot to take the before pics... but here she is AFTER (she was pretty well scratched up before) :

I was really happy with the way it turned out. I'm interested to see how it holds up now --- compared to the original bead blast durability. It sure was easy to do. If it'll hold up well, i think we stumbled on a pretty good trick! :D

We'll see...

Nice work xaman! Nice work johnykwst!

That's a fine looking Sebenza. :)

hard to tell any difference with the change in lighting in the two pictures.

If you are referring to my pictures, one has scratches and the other does not. If the second pic were taken under the same lighting conditions as the first pic you would still see no scratches but would end up with a worse pic, in my opinion. Light is too strong in the first pic.

Looks like I might be trying the ole scotch brite pad this weekend:D

Nice engraving! Where did you get it done?

I bought it recently from fewpop, the engraving was already done. We did determine that the artist was Brooks Burt and here is a link to his website: http://www.angelfire.com/wi/brooksburt/

It's really a nice job. He's very reasonable too -- I asked him about the possibility of doing a matching small sebbie... :D
