Man, I can't believe this thread was already at the bottom of page 5...

Here's the "Scotch Dispenser"

Blade Length: = 3"
OAL: = 6 1/4"
Thickness: = 3/16"

And here's the Anorexic "Assault Shaker". . .

Blade Length: = 2 1/2"
OAL: = 5 1/2"
Thickness: = 3/16"

So, who's getting what?

I'm sure I'll get at least three or four of the AAS's, but I'm on the fence about the Scotch Dispenser. I'm intrigued by it though. How do you hold this one, and what are the advantages of its handle design? Any ideas just from looking at the pics?

Index in the ring. Middle in the groove, ring on the divit. Not my cup of tea. That's 2 in a row I'm off of. Good thing since I'll want a couple SH1A's and hoping to score some customs on the eventual theoretical BBG.

I'll be getting one or two of the AAS', but the scotch dispenser, probably not. I know it's a stretch, but it could be interpreted as being a "brass knuckle" which is classified as a prohibited weapon in Canada. It's not worth the potential trouble...

I'm definitely getting one of the Scotch Dispensers ;) :D

A few skakers too. Isn't it funny how "cheap" Busses don't mean you spend any less? After buying a few of them, and spending a little more freely on the exchange -- you still end up at the end of your rope!

So the Assault Shaker is the first knife to be re-released since the Ergo line was discontinued. Are we going to start seeing more knives re-released now?

I'm going to get a bunch of Sage Anorexic Assault Shakers.

I'll pass on the Scotch Dispenser, It looks cool but I don't have a use to justify it's purchase.

I'll probably do a couple AAS's, but I'd like to see a couple SD in hand shots to make my mind up on that one.

I'll most likely do a couple of each of each, if nothing else, think trading fodder.

Anytime I've passed on an offering that has the slightest interest for me, 6mo down the road I wished I had pulled the trigger.

As for the AS, it's cool having examples of the same model from different vintages. The differences are usually real subtle, but that's the fun. These are 3/16", my others are 1/4".

Maybe...

A Sage AAS... Still waiting for the SH-1A. Plan on getting more than one of those! ;)

I hear you. One advantage is blade/OAL ratio. Makes it relatively easy to carry. Reminds me of the SLCC in that respect... which is a design I was initially skeptical of and grew to like.

The 'dispenser appears to have a very utilitarian profile too. Although, it could be thinner, but there's that again.

I'm going to pass on the SD... just not my thang.

I might get a sage AAS or two... but just because they're SAGE.
mmmmmmmm.... sage. :D :D

.

I had been thinking I needed a AS for weeks, now I can wait.

Or at least I thought I could. Hurry up already!

This is my fall back logic...

Jerry Busse - one of the best knife designer of all time; so no matter what I think I buy one.

If it was an international tax plan then I'd possibly listen to my own opinion.

I'm in for a BBC to go with my AAS..!. :p:D LMAO

Busse "BEER CHASER" :D:D

That sage AS looks awesome. I'll try to get one. Right now as a very small fixed EDC I use BM Snoody Activator GG, but that may change when I have the AS. :D

LOL@Jaxx. Recommendation - don't use it to open the second half of the 12-pack - you're liable to close your ring and pinky fingers on the blade and slice them off.

Good news is you won't feel much at that point. But later. OUCH!

So the Assault Shaker is the first knife to be re-released since the Ergo line was discontinued. Are we going to start seeing more knives re-released now?

That would be the Active Duty. :) The second was the Skeleton Key, so the Assault Shaker would be the third.

Nothing's final in Jerry's world, but back in the day that is all he said would go over to the fusion line.
