There's been a lot of interest in Pat Ankrom's pine cone scales lately. I was lucky to obtain three sets, each with a different color resin. This is knife #3. From my point of view it's a cross between a sgian dhu blade and a dagger handle( knives have one edge; daggers two). It actually makes a really nice all around carry knife. The blade is out of 3/32 inch CPM154CM and is 4 1/4 inches long. The bolster is three metal mokume gane (NS/copper/brass). Hard to see when these pics were taken fresh off the grinder; it's more obvious now that it's oxidized a bit.
The scales are grey resin with a norwegian spruce cone that was embedded in the resin. I used a liner that was the exact same color. Sheath's in the making. Thanks for looking.

Another beauty Joel.
Looks like one useful knife.

I like this subdued pinecone the best.
Can't decide if it is fish like or reptilian.
Certainly isn't your run of the mill handle material.
