Here is a repost of one in the makers area for your enjoyment.

Here is the knife I will be donating to the 2008 Scott Taylor Memorial Scholarship this year. It will be Auctioned off during the ABS auction at Blade. All funds earned from this effort are donated to the W.F. Moran school of Bladesmithing. 2 scholarships are available each year. One for the Basic Bladesmithing course and one for Handles and guards.

Knife Stats

Blade 10.875" of 350 layer 1084-15n20 raindrop pattern Damascus. A coin edge heat colored titanium seppa sets off the wrought iron guard. The spacer and butt cap are made of the same 300 layer material as the blade and frame the black dyed and stabilized figured maple handle.

Thanks for looking

chuck can you still buy raffle tickets if you don't go to blade to help support the cause?.....ryan

Right now it is still a full auction sale. We will have additional sales for other knives that will be auctioned on the worthy cause area of knifenetwork. Thanks for the interest tho

Thank you all. Scott was a great guy and just wanted to do something to further his love of the forged knife. This will be the fourth year and the third one I have donated. I was unable to do it last year due to a move. We will continue until we have enough in the fund to be perpetual for at least the next 10-20 years.

As far as the auction.

You can go to the ABS site and check things out. In the past there have been phone bidders and they also allowed pre-bidding.

Chuck,
It goes without saying, but thank you for continuing to support this. I met Scott's wife 2 years ago at the auction. What a wonderful lady. She spoke very highly of you.

They do not have the preview site up yet. At least I can not find it. There will be several knives available for auction. I believe all will go to the school in some way or another. Margaret is a wonderful lady and am glad to call her my friend. She is passionate about this and will continue it forward.

Stuff like this is what I like best about the knife community.

Really nice bowie that someone will be very happy to take home.

Roger
