The discussion on Dockers Mobile pants made me realize that I've been holding out on you guys. I can't use the Mobile Pants, because I'm between sizes (I'm a 31, they only make 30 and 32). But I've been using a product that out-geeks even Mobile Pants. Hell, you Mobile Pants guys are just little geeklings compared to me.

Check out the graphic of the pockets at the top of the page, then hit the "Compare eVESTs" link. As you go down the feature list at the left on the chart, the picture on the right will show what's being illustrated.

I just bought the 2.0s model (the "sport" models are basically windbreakers). I really like it. First and most importantly, it does follow through on the same promise as the Dockers Mobile pants do -- allows you to carry a lot of stuff, without looking like a complete geek, or even having anyone know how much you're carrying.

Since the 2.0s is the windbreaker model, you can't load it down too too much, since the light material will start to give some telltale stretching. But, some of the things I carry with it all the time: TimePort, Clie, Arc LS, a bottle of Purell, Fischer or Rotring pen, Fox OC spray, knife, keys (attached to key leash). In addition, I have my cell phone ear buds attached to the cell phone, running up the conduits and sitting at the collar by my ear. Looking at the comparison chart, you'll see that there are special pockets for many of these things. A nice feature you can't tell by looking at the pictures is that there are some pockets up high on the jacket, and putting things in those pockets feels better than putting them in the low pockets (though the high outer pockets do print much more).

I can carry all that without anything printing. I can also carry various and sundry other small items, but another big item (like my Stowaway), and it will start to print a bit. It's now incredibly easy to carry all my cr*p everywhere, no one the wiser. In the winter, I'd planned to take off the sleeves and wear it as a vest under my regular jacket. However, I like the product enough that I just ordered the 2.5 full jacket version, which I'm guessing will take me through a Bay Area winter no problem, plus it's got the stowable hood, and is heavier material so it should accomodate more stuff without stretching or printing.

All in all, I like the sport model windbreaker, and I'm looking forward to getting the heavier model. I'll have it by Wednesday.
