I finished this dirk up today. The wood is maple. The steel is 1095 with a differential heat treat. Brass trim with brass rivets in the handle. The blade is about 12" long. Let me know what you think.

Very nice! Classic lines and, I strongly suspect, modern performance.

Brings out the Scot in me.:)

Not enough smiths making the " Dirks" and "SgianDubhs".
The little Sgian Dubhs are nice carry pieces with a moderate level of protection if needed.
The Dirks make a fine "Pillow knife" as the Japanese call such pieces.

So very nice
The differentially heat treated blade looks great
And I love the way you fixed the brass button guard

Is the false edge sharp?
And what's the pattern of the fileworks?

Thanks for showing, Micheal :)
