Just wanted to say that I drove out to see Scott today seeing as I don't live too far from him to talk about a knife I want made, and he ended up spending about two hours of his time with me. He covered all the details with me, asked me questions I hadn't thought of, and really worked hands on with me on designing exactly what I wanted. More importantly though, he was just a super nice guy that was really easy to talk to.

If I had confidence in his work before, after meeting him it's only doubled. He's a great guy!

Collin, thanks for coming by today. It was a pleasure talking with you about your design. It really is going to make my job easier being able to discuss it in the shop and actually draw up the design on the steel. I'll keep you posted.

There is nothing better than working with a guy that will take your design and bring it to life. The fact that he's also a great guy is a very nice bonus.

Scott is good folk, I live about ten minutes from him and a little bit more from his shop, and it is a real treat to stop by. Like a kid in a candy store every time.

Yep, let's see the blade.

Hi!

No pics of the blade, but it's a large one made for chopping...3 inches wide at it's broadest point, 8.5 blade, 14 inches overall, from 5/16ths A2 steel.

I'm really excited to say the least.

I recently had the chance to spend an hour on the phone with Scott.... I agree with the OP completely. On top of that he make on heck of a blade.

Here's Collin's blade. Recognize the handle design? Fours hours into it so far. 14" overall, 8 1/2" blade, 5/16" thick, 3" wide near to point. A2 steel.

That's a beast!! I wonder how it will compare with your bolo?
It will definately outchop the bolo. Although the bolo has the advantage of being lighter, less tiresome to swing. With the pure mass of this blade, it will excell at busting down wood into smaller splits. The way the grind will be it will work curls off wood very well.

Dam I told my wife I was done buying knives and then you come up with this!!!!! We might have to talk about one of those with white micarta handle slabs with red liners. I will be e-mailing you about the specifics once I get the money together first. Awesome work brother!

Thanks Mike. Man, what a labor intensive piece of steel. I had to use my 10" contact wheel to help shape the profile. I never use that wheel anymore. Glad I had it. I bought it with the intention of hollow grinding which I never got into. Made about 3 hollow ground knives with it.

Scott I wanted to say that knife looks like the most awesome Monster Nessie I have ever seen! That is one of the best big woods knives I have ever seen! Like I said when I get all this retirement shit going I am going to have to have one of those in A2. Great work as always brother!

Thanks Mike. I wish you the best with that situation you're dealing with. Got to be a pain in the ass.
